About Crimea

The Crimean Peninsula lies in the southern part of Ukraine and is washed by the Sea of Azov and by the Black Sea. It is famous both for its history (the Crimean War (1853-1856), Yalta Conference (1945) and for its picturesque mountains, warm sea, magnificent beaches and climatic resorts. The Crimea is a traditional holiday area for millions of Russian, Ukrainian and all ex-soviet people. This magic land is often called "Russian Italy". This allows combining leisure-time on vacation with studies on language courses.

The Crimea is a traditional holiday area that is why it is a safe place for a foreigner in comparison with busy, restless and disturbing Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Kiev. Russian spoken on the territory of the Crimea is one of the purest versions of it even in comparison with that spoken in Russian Federation.

People, who interested in history, will be able to discover so many interesting things acquainted with the Crimea: The United Nations organization was initiated in the Crimea in 4-11 February 1945 by Roosevelt, Churchill and Stalin during the Yalta Conference. Sevastopol is well known for the Crimean War (1853-1856) and its status of a base of Ukrainian and Russian navy. People, who prefer the modern holiday, will find in the Crimea so many things for fun. Numerous excursions in the Crimea range from traditional visits to Yalta, Alupka, Sevastopol, sea pleasure trips, water parks, sports, swimming, horse riding, the Crimean wines and champagne tasting, other special interest activities.

Concerning free time we can offer afternoon half-day activities, weekend trips. Such cultural activities let students see Yalta (famous and extremely popular seaside resort), Sevastopol (a base (centre) of Ukrainian and Russian navy, a city rich in military history), Mountain Crimea (ecological paradise, place of Crimean - tartar village including visiting of Great Canyon of Crimea, the top of Ai-Petri Mountain, horse riding, walking around the mountains, gathering mushrooms and berries, etc.) and others. During the period from May to October it is possible to swim in Yalta and Sevastopol.

You can get to Simferopol, the capital of the Crimea, by different kinds of transport depending on your preference.

By AIR. There are regular direct flights to Simferopol from Moscow (both Domodedovo and Sheremetjevo) and from Kiev (both Borispol and Zhulyany). It is also possible to get from Frankfurt to Simferopol during the period from 15 May till 15 October. If it is necessary we can meet you at the airport and organize transfer Simferopol – Yalta – Simferopol or a suitable one.

By TRAIN. It is also possible to get by train both from Moscow and Kiev. It takes more than a night but less than 24 hours. It is more comfortable to go from Kiev.
